Second model revealed today by German tuner AC Schnitzer is the 2012 BMW 6 Series Convertible. The company began their 6 Series Convertible program back in March with the usual alloy wheels offerings. Featured on a 640i Convertible Space Gray Metallic, the tuner showcased at the time type IV, two-tone type V and VIII wheels.

Today, the tuner reveals their aftermarket program for the latest generation, 2012 BMW 6 Series Convertible, which will have its debut at the 2011 Frankfurt Auto Show. AC Schnitzer’s 6 Series Convertible show car will be based on the 650i model which receives a significant power upgrade. From the standard 407 hp, AC Schnitzer gives the 650i mode a whooping 540 hp by using a new exhaust system and a re-mapped ECU.

In the cosmetics department, the AC Schnitzer 2012 BMW 6 Series Convertible comes with a new body kit, featuring a redesigned front spoiler and a rear skirt protected by a special foil.

To cope with the increase power and provide adequate braking distances, AC Schnitzer also upgrades the brakes of the 650i Convertible which now has 8-piston high performance calipers on the front axle. The car also sits on 21 inch wheels (19-inch and 20-inch available too) and new springs.

Inside, AC Schnitzer includes a new steering wheel with airbag, an aluminum cover for the iDrive controller, aluminum pedals, and new floor mats.
