BMW Motorsport takes 1-2 in VLN season opener at Nürburgring
The first race appearance at the Nürburgring-Nordschleife (DE) in 2011 turned out to be a great success for Team BMW Motorsport: The no. 42 BMW M3 GT with Jörg Müller (DE), Augusto Farfus (BR) and Uwe Alzen (DE) at the wheel crossed the line as the winner in the first round of the VLN Endurance Championship.

BMW M was full of surprises this past weekend and gave selected journalists a tour inside their "secret garage". Another gem hiding in the M fortress in Garching, was the BMW V12 LMR, the very same vehicle that won the 24 hour of Le Mans in 1999.

Another hidden gem in the garages at BMW M facility in Garching was a BMW X5 LeMans. The one-off model was built by BMW to celebrate their 1999 victory at Le Mans using the 6.0 V12 in the LMR BMW and test the X5′s limits.

Our first encounter with the on-off BMW M8 took place last year at the BMW Museum in Munich where the M folks decided to surprise the journalists with an unexpected appearance of the long-time rumored BMW M8.
