The arrival of the BMW X1 to the US coincides with an update that includes exterior and interior refinements as well as a host of BMW EfficientDynamics technologies. All models feature Brake Energy Regeneration while the X1 sDrive28i and xDrive28i models also benefit from Auto Start/Stop and ECO PRO mode to further reduce fuel consumption.
For the first time in a SAV, BMW will offer the X1 with two lines: xLine (xDrive) and Sport Line (rear-wheel-drive). For enthusiasts who want to accentuate the sporting character of their X1 even further, an M Sport Package is also available.
Typical BMW proportions, expressive, vibrant surfaces and signature BMW X model design cues shape the appearance of the BMW X1. A sweeping hood, long wheelbase and set-back passenger compartment emphasize the vehicle’s dynamic talent, while attractive light and shade effects hint at its inherent agility. The versatility and robustness of a BMW X model are reflected in elements such as the black edging at the lower edge of the body and wide wheel arches.
BMW’s top model X1 xDrive35i is said to run from 0 to 60 mph in 5.3 seconds. EPA mileage estimates for this model are 18 mpg city/27 mpg highway/21 mpg combined.
Pricing for the BMW X1 sDrive28i and X1 xDrive28i starts at $31,545 and $33,245 respectively while the X1 xDrive35i will start at $39,345. All prices include $895 Destination and Handling.
The BMW X1 sDrive28i with customary BMW rear-wheel drive and the all-wheel-drive xDrive35i are offered exclusively in the US market.
