The new BMW X6 is getting ready to show its face in front of a live audience for the first time. The car will be on stage at the Frankfurt Motor Show next month and people will have the opportunity to check it out in the metal. Not long after, the X6 will arrive in dealerships and you’ll be interested to know how much it will set you back. Well, if you live in Australia, it’s going to be a lot.
BMW Australia announced the pricing for the X6 today and the cheapest you can get down under starts at AUD121,900 or $82,330 in US dollars. That’s for the xDrive30d, base model. Go up in the range and you’ll find the xDrive40i version starting at AUD124,900 ($84,300) only to be topped off by the M50i version at AUD155,900 ($105,287). If you’re Australian, you probably are used to such prices though.
Then the options start piling up. There are several Packages you can choose from. The Indulgence Package costs AUD6,600 for M50i and AUD7,800 for the xDrive30d or xDrive40i models and comes with soft-close doors, active seat ventilation, comfort seats, glass trim pieces, front and rear heated seats, and a massage function for the front seats. I’d say the name fits it perfectly and that you may not need anything extra thrown on top of it.
If you do want to go even further, the Iconic Package will add 22″ wheels, a wider choice of metallic paints and the new Iconic Glow illuminated kidney grilles. For those wanting to take the X6 off road, the xOffroad Package (AUD7,500) will add off-road styling, adaptive air suspension and the BMW Display Key to the mix.
Just like the BMW X5 and X7 models, as we reported last week, the X6 can also be fitted with a tow kit which raises the towing limit to 3.5 tons.
