The BMW 340i is a step below the famed BMW M3 models. Powered by a powerful and efficient engine, this is just one step below the power of the high-performance BMW M Sedan model range. The 3.0 liter BMW TwinPower Turbo engine generates 320 hp and 330 lb-ft of torque. The 340i was the first model in the BMW line-up to be powered by the lightweight, all-aluminum B58 inline 6-cylinder engine from the EfficientDynamics family.
It utilizes the TwinPower technology and innovative features like High Precision Injection and Double-VANOS, in order to achieving supreme performance and low fuel consumption numbers. The BMW 340i is capable of accelerating from 0-62mph (0-100km/h) in as fast as 4.6 seconds in the xDrive model. For many, it’s the perfect platform for an aftermarket build.
So the owner of this BMW 340i took it over to European Auto Source for some modifications. For this gorgeous Estoril Blue BMW 340i, the small, albeit impacting cosmetic touches were made, giving it quite a unique look.
The build started off with a set of aftermarket wheels. These BBS LM wheels come in sizes of 19×8.5 in the front and 19×9.5 in the rear. The Diamond Black finish of the wheels works rather well with the blue exterior of the vehicle, adding that motorsport inspired aftermarket look. The wheels are further accentuated thanks to a set of H&R Springs which lower the car nicely to the ground.
Furthermore, the BMW M Performance gloss black kidney grilles, side sill blades and a rear diffuser are matched with a front decklid spoiler, giving the vehicle a nice dose of carbon fiber additions. Finally, a performance addition was added.
The BMW M Performance exhaust and M Performance Power and Sound Kit enhances the engine output to 355 horsepower and 369 ft-lb of torque, yielding improved performance and a better overall exhaust sound as well. While some other tuning companies trust the factory data, at European Auto Source you need to actually do a dyno run to confirm the power gains and the proper installation of parts.
