At the 2015 Essen Motor Show, AC Schnitzer will unveil the ACS1 5.0d “BMW 150d” model with a tri-turbo. The show car is an impressive example of what you can get out of the BMW 1 Series and what powerhouses fit under the hood. The engine comes from the M550d and has been tuned to produce 400 horsepower and 800 Nm of torque (590 lb-ft).
With all the power increase, the AC Schnitzer BMW 150d accelerates in 4.5 seconds to 100 km/h, and the intermediate sprint from 80 to 180 km/h is done after 7.9 seconds. We can also assume that an impressive top speed would be possible without electronic limitation, but for now, it’s up to 250 km/h.
To improve the ride quality, the Aachener-based tuning shop installed shorter sport springs. The exhaust system was upgraded with new tailpipes, while the optics of the 150d was enhanced with Schnitzer-made front apron, carbon mirror covers, a roof spoiler and design strips. Different wheel designs in 18-20 inches are available as well. This particular model runs on 20 inches wheels wrapped in 235 mm front and 300mm rear tires.
The interior was adorned with aluminum highlights, aluminum pedals, a new gear knob and floor mats.
