To some, the unmistakable looks and the powerful V8 engine of the BMW E92 M3 are the epitome of true BMW M mentality. On the other hand this is the previous generation M3, clearly surpassed in performance, if not appearance, by the BMW F80 M3 and BMW F82 M4 released earlier this year.
But nothing a few aftermarket mods can’t fix. The folks over at European Auto Source got their hands on an E92 M3 to give it a makeover. First, they started working on the power output of the popular M3 by adding a supercharger. With 360 horsepower at the wheels, joined by 260lb-ft of torque, also at the wheels, the “old” M3 needs some more ponies to compete with the “new” M3.
Thanks to some carefully selected parts, some engine tuning and a lot of work on fine tuning the delivery of increased power, this M3 is now ready to compete on the streets with the best of sports cars.
While the S65 V8 engine clearly develops plenty of power in its naturally-aspirated stock form, the addition of the tuning parts will definitely make it even more exciting! The obvious selection was an ESS VT2-625 supercharger for this build.
With 6.5PSI of forced induction, this supercharger has all the necessary ingredients needed to turn this M3 into a powerful machine. Together with a MACH Force exhaust system, some software setups and the expertise to fine tune it, this BMW E92 M3 now produces some staggeringly amazing numbers.
The final run showcased a rather impressive 540.18 horsepower and 351.17lb-ft of torque with this setup! This is quite an increase over the stock power. The stock M3 does a 0-60mph (0-100km/h) sprint in 4.6 seconds. Imagine what it can do with the horsepower added. Shaving off a few tenths of a second shouldn’t be an issue for this vehicle.
Furthermore, EAS installed a selection of cosmetic modifications also. The M Performance mirror caps, kidney grilles and rear spoiler make for nice cosmetic additions. The iND painted side reflectors keep the build looking sharp and clean. For the improved ride height and performance, a complete KW HAS (Height Adjustable Sleeve Over Lowering Kit) was installed. The Macht Schnell spacers sized 15mm in the front and 12mm in the rear complete it.
