After much talk about what is the roof on performance upgrades for the BMW F82 M4, we are slowly starting to receive the results. Some M4 tuning projects are reporting the output well over 500 horsepower and that doesn’t surprise us that much. It is common knowledge that the environment friendly restrictions are putting a dent into performance, where simple tuning procedures are yielding nice results.
The same can be applied to this Austin Yellow BMW F82 M4 which received a power boost as well. It is done by European Auto Source, where (even though the mod list is really long) the performance areas modified are simple, elegant and clean.
The first order of business was swapping out the OEM exhaust with something much louder. As seen on their previous project cars, they opted to install the Akrapovic Evolution Titanium Exhaust Syste but they added the carbon fiber tips this time. After that, they mated the new exhaust to a pair of Evolution Racewerks catless downpipes to create an even freer flowing system.
With the exhaust taken care of, European Auto Source plugged in a Burger Motorsport JB4 tuner, filled the car up with some 100 octane fuel and strapped it to a thing called Dynojet – a set of rollers that measure car performance. We were very pleased with the results: 559whp and 605ft-lbs tq!
As you may know, a stock BMW F82 M4 has 425 horsepower and 406 lb-ft of torque from a 3.0 liter, inline 6-cylinder with M TwinPower Turbo Technology. This pretty much means an increase of 144 horsepower and 199lb-ft of torque compared to the stock engine figures! Staggering results!
Furthermore, this M4 comes with a set of aftermarket aero parts. These mostly aim to increase appearance of the M4, but some do enhance performance as well.
EAS installed an Arkym Carbon Fiber S55 Engine Cover, Awron DGA Gauge, BMC High Performance Replacement Air Filters, BMW Gloss Black Kidney Grille Surrounds, BMW M Performance Carbon Fiber Front Splitters, Carbon Fiber Mirror Caps, Carbon Fiber Rear Diffuser, Carbon Fiber Trunk Spoiler and BMW M Performance Side Blade Attachments. You will also find a set of Evolution Racewerks Competition Series Catless Downpipes that go perfectly with the Akrapovic Titanium Exhaust System, featuring carbon fiber tips on the quad exhaust pipes.
As the owner decided to leave the stock wheel setup, an H&R Sport Lowering Springs were added, combined with Macht Schnell Competition Wheel Spacers (15mm Front, 12mm Rear), allowing for a nice contour of the vehicle, the wheel and tire setup. There are also some other cosmetic mods, like the iND Painted Engine Cover, Front Reflectors, Key Hole Cover, License Plate Frame, Side Markers and Trunk Badge as well there.
