European customers looking for the perfect BMW 4 Series Coupe with a diesel engine may soon get more choices. Our sister-magazine Bimmertoday learned from a reliable source that the BMW 425d and 430d xDrive will soon join the 4 Series family.
BMW is currently offering the 420d and 420d xDrive variants, and 430d xDrive and 435d.
The new BMW 425d Coupe F32 comes with the familiar four-cylinder turbo, which is also available in other model series. It produces 218 hp and 450 Newton meters of torque. The 425d will be available with a manual six-speed gearbox as well as with the eight-speed automatic.
The 425d comes only with the rear-wheel drive setup, and the all-wheel drive offering will be made available in the 430d. The standard sprint in this variant is expected to be faster than the rear-wheel drive 430d which runs from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.5 seconds. A manual transmission is still not available for the 258-hp six-cylinder diesel.
Specs and prices for BMW 425d and 430d xDrive Coupe are expected to be published in a few days.
