BMW Concept Active Tourer Outdoor comes to the 2013 Frankfurt Auto Show to showcase the upcoming front-wheel drive platform.
The midsize-compact van builds atop the BMW Concept Active Tourer unveiled last year in Paris and features an exclusive Gold Race Orange exterior paintwork. The sporty design comes with generous levels of interior space and the variable rear compartment is designed to accommodate sports and leisure equipment. A carrier system for two bicycles (integrated into the interior) was added to the BMW Concept Active Tourer Outdoor. The setup can be seen below.
The long wheelbase (2,670 millimeters), a higher roofline and a compact, transversely mounted engine sending its power to the front wheels combine to deliver generous interior space hard-wearing interior materials, such as MoonWhite and MoonRock Grey leather.
With an exterior length of 4,350 millimeters, width of 1,833 millimeters and height of 1,576 millimeters, the Active Tourer Outdoor makes the perfect companion for those that enjoy outdoor and sports activities.
In concept form, the BMW Concept Active Tourer Outdoor is designed as a plug-in hybrid (PHEV = Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle).
