There have been quite a few spy photos of the 4 Series Convertible over the past few months but, for unknown reasons, spy photos of the Coupe haven’t been as plentiful. Now, though, some new photos of the 4er Coupe have surfaced and it shows off the brand’s latest sports car which seems to look like a baby 8 Series. (We don’t own the spy photos but they can be seen here)
In these photos, we get to see the new 4 Series from almost every angle and it looks like a slightly shorter, slightly taller 8 Series. The way its roofline sweeps down through the C-pillar and into the trunk lid is very reminiscent to Bavaria’s largest GT car. It isn’t as sleek, as low or as long as the 8er but it has a similar over profile.

At the front, it’s low and squinty, just like the flagship 8er and its headlights look a bit similar as well. It’s sporty looking but also smoother and more elegant than the 3 Series, so it seems as if BMW is leaning a bit more towards grand touring with the next-gen 4 Series. Which would make a bit of sense, as the 2 Series is going to be the brand’s sportiest coupe and the 8 Series is a GT car. So the 4er is in the middle.
We don’t get to see the interior in these photos but it’s not likely to differ much from its 3 Series sibling. So expect more of the same from the inside of the 4 Series. That’s not a bad thing, as the cabin of the 3er is actually quite nice, but it’s not all that exciting.
When the new 4 Series debuts, it’s going to have to take on the Mercedes-Benz C-Class Coupe and the new facelifted Audi A5 Coupe. What’s interesting is that it will be the newest car in the segment and should have a bit of an advantage. We’re excited to see what it will look like sans camo.
