It seems as if MINI is starting to pump out special edition cars to stay relevant while it’s in a bit of a model slump. MINI won’t be releasing an entirely new model for a couple of years, so it needs to keep putting out special edition cars to stay in the headlines. After all, a bit part of the MINI brand is customization and individuality. So, in that respect, special edition models are important for MINI. Four of them will debut at the L.A. Auto Show next week and headlining them will be the MINI JCW Knights Edition.

MINI John Cooper Works Knights Edition

The MINI JCW Knights Edition is essentially a fun looking MINI John Cooper Works Hardtop, as the only changes are cosmetic. It starts off with Midnight Black paint, a Melting Silver roof and mirror caps, a custom melting silver bonnet stripe and melting silver and red side stripes design. It also gets Piano Black exterior trims, Piano black door handles and fuel filler cap, a John Cooper Works Exhaust Flap System and chrome exhaust tips. The MINI JCW Knights Edition will be available Q1 2019.

MINI Countryman Yin Yang Edition

As for the MINI Countryman Yin Yang Edition, it’s based on the Countryman Cooper S and you get either a Midnight Black or Light White paint job with the opposing color contrast roof and a custom stripe design. It also gets Piano Black for the grille trim, headlight and taillight rings and door handles. But wait, there’s more. Night Jack Side Scuttles and Mirror Caps, an All-Weather Luggage Mat and Custom Floor mats. The Countryman Yin Yang will be available in the US next month.

MINI Clubman Starlight Edition

Based on the Clubman Cooper S, the Starlight Edition brings a Starlight Blue Metallic exterior paint with a Melting Silver roof, mirrors and Center Caps and Custom melting silver bonnet stripes. With it also comes silver 17-inch Net Spoke Wheels, a MINI Luggage trolley, the MINI Click and Drive System and a MINI Luggage Compartment Mat. The Starlight Clubman is currently available at US dealers.

MINI John Cooper Works International Orange

Lastly is the MINI John Cooper Works International Orange, which is essentially just an orange MINI JCW. Though, it also gets gloss black trim, a gloss black rear spoiler, Ferric Gray 18-inch Double Spoke John Cooper Works Wheels, John Cooper Works Pro Exhaust with Bluetooth controlled flap and chrome tailpipe trims, Custom Black Side Stripes, Carbon Fiber Mirror Caps, Custom Black Fuel Filler Cap, High Gloss Black Door Handles and Custom Front and Rear Bumper Decals. So it’s a long list of visual upgrades and a two-mode exhaust but that’s about it. Still, it looks cool and it’s available in the US right now.
