The new ALPINA B7 LCI (Life Cycle Impulse) barely camo’ed prototype was spotted on the German Autobahn A7 in South Germany. Following the production cycle of the BMW 7 Series, the refreshed B7 will arrive shortly after. With the LCI 7 Series, BMW is clearly making decently sized changes to the face and rear of the 7er.
At the front, we can also on the B7 LCI see that it looks quite a bit different from the current car with larger grilles and more squinty headlights, likely borrowing from the new BMW X7 SUV. Out back, despite the heavy cam, we can see changes made to the shape of the taillights and to the bumper.
Inside the car, we don’t expect major changes, but rather a refinement of the current B7 and 7 Series interior. In the case of the ALPINA, expect to see new materials and trim options, which will elevate the already luxurious interior of the B7.
Under the hood, the current B7 is powered by a new 4.4 liter eight-cylinder engine with twin-turbo charging, gasoline direct injection and Valvetronic delivers an impressive output of 600 horsepower between 5750 rpm and 6250 rpm, while the maximum torque of 590 lb-ft is available from 3000 rpm. While we don’t expect a power increase for this model, some upgrades and new software mapping for the facelifted B7 might be in cards.
The new BMW 7 Series facelift is scheduled for March 2019, so we expect the B7 LCI to debut also at the Geneva Motor Show next year.
