Not only does the US market not get any of the hot diesels that Europe gets, we also don’t get any of the cool wagons. This ALPINA D3 Bi-Turbo Touring is both, and so much more. According to its owner, this is a one-of-one D3 Bi-Turbo Touring painted in the highly exclusive Aventura Red color. The beautiful paint job is paired with the Cohiba Brown leather, another rare interior trim.
The ALPINA D3 Bi-Turbo comes with a highly tuned version of BMW’s 3.0 liter turbocharged I6 diesel which, in ALPINA spec, 345 hp and 516 lb-ft of torque. That’s mighty and enough to thrust the D3 from 0-60 mph in 4.6 seconds. It’s also capable of 170 mph, making it the fastest production diesel in the world.
A couple of years ago, the D3 Touring went trough a mild facelift. The front features a new spoiler and a chrome BMW kidney grill, both accentuate the dynamic appearance and exclusive design. New LED headlights are extremely efficient and provide even better illumination of the road, their design underlines the sporty, aggressive stance of the D3 Bi-Turbo. The two twin tailpipes are elegantly integrated into the re-designed rear apron, above which the new LED rear lights are clearly visible.
