Unlike some other projects we’ve seen lately, this one caters to both the performance and  safety at the same time. The build started off as an Alpine White BMW E92 M3, a vehicle that’s been gaining popularity in the aftermarket circles in recent months. This is mostly due to their price dropping to appealing levels (some examples are sourced for as low as $15,000), but also, thanks to the E92 M3 being a really great platform for aftermarket tuning. In turn, this poses a great choice for a track day build that won’t put you into bankruptcy any time soon.
The E92 M3Â comes powered by a naturally aspirated 4.0 liter V8 engine which delivers 414 horsepower and 300 lb-ft of torque. Consequently, the E92 M3 will sprint from 0-62mph (0-100km/h) in 4.3 – 4.5 seconds. The vehicle will reach a top speed of 155mph (250km/h).
For this project, the owner took his M3 to European Auto Source where the sports coupe received some aftermarket modifications. These include an upgrade to the M3’s brake system, a set of coilovers, alongside a BMW M Performance exhaust system and some minor cosmetic touches.
The owner chose to go big with the brakes. And we mean literally big! These StopTech brakes come with 380mm size in the front and 355mm size in the rear, alongside six-piston calipers in the front and four-piston calipers in the rear. While the complete big brake system upgrade will set you back a whopping $6,190 in total, it’s well worth it. StopTech ST Big Brake Kits exceed stock performance in two key areas: First, larger rotors increase heat capacity, allowing a driver to brake harder stop-after-stop with reduced chance of fade. Second, stiffer calipers and stainless steel lines reduce system compliance, providing consistent pedal feel and confidence-inspiring responsiveness.
Next, the owner upgrade the M3’s suspension system. This is done thanks to a set of AST Suspensions’s 5100 Series 1-Way adjustable coilovers installed. This suspension system is a major upgrade for the BMW M3 platform. It gives both the track day performance and street usability, allowing the owner for a no-compromise solution for track day events and daily driving scenarios as well.
After the brakes and suspension upgrades were completed, it was time to add a brand new BMW M Performance exhaust system. While the BMW E92 M3 produces a sweet sound coming out of its four exhaust pipes, there’s always room for performance and sound improvements. The new system allows for a 40 percent weight reduction (about 20lbs) when compared to the stock exhaust system. It also allows for a more free flow of exhaust gases, giving a better throttle response, more broader sound note and improved performance.
Finally, a set of iNDÂ painted front reflectors and gloss black kidney grilles were installed, perfecting the car’s clean exterior looks. Take a look at the complete media gallery of this projet right below.
