A $75,000 BMW M4 Convertible is just one of the main attractions at the BMW exhibit in New York. The beautiful open top is featured in the Yas Marina Blue color made famous by the F80 M3 Sedan, paired with a BMW Individual Extended Merino leather in red.
To reach the high price tag, BMW has pretty much loaded up the car with its entire list of options. Packages like the Driver Assistance, Executive Package, Lighting Package and the Competition Package are part of the offering, along with M Carbon Ceramic Brakes, Parking Assistant and Pearl Gloss Chrome trim.
With the Competition Package, the BMW M4 makes 444 hp and 406 lb-ft of torque from its twin-turbo 3.0 I6, has a seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox and gets from 0-60 mph in 4.0 seconds.
The M3 and M4 with the Competition Package can accelerate from a standstill to 100 km/h – with optional 7-speed M Double Clutch Transmission in only 4.0 seconds; the BMW M4 Convertible in 4.3 seconds. The models with the standard 6-speed manual transmission will need an additional 0.1 seconds.
The Competition Package also includes Adaptive M Suspension, which has been extensively tuned to the enhanced performance and handling, and which features new springs, dampers and anti-roll bars, along with reconfigured driving modes (Comfort, Sport and Sport+).
The standard Active M Differential on the rear axle and DSC Dynamic Stability Control have likewise been configured to match the upgraded dynamics. Exclusive forged, machine-polished, weight- and rigidity-optimised 20-inch M alloy wheels – front 9J × 20; rear 10 J × 20 – with exclusive multi-spoke 666 M styling and mixed tyres (front: 265/30 R20, rear: 285/30 R20) complete the list of chassis upgrades.
