The BMW M240i always takes a back seat to the much famed BMW M2. In reality, the M240i is nearly as fun to drive as the M2, giving owners more than enough thrills in both the performance and driving dynamics aspects. For this particular owner, giving his vehicle a bit more power and improved visual aspects was the key in making it a more appealing vehicle overall.
This is where the owner turned to European Auto Source. In standard form, the M240i is powered by a B58 engine under the hood, good for 340 horsepower and 500 Nm (369 lb-ft) of torque. The M240i will thus accelerate from 0-62mph (0-100km/h) in an impressive 4.4 seconds. A perfect starting point for a tuning build.
The tuning shop started off the build with the recently released DINANTRONICS Elite tuner, made for the M240i model range. This allows gains of 47 horsepower and 63lb-ft of torque to be achieved, bringing up the power to 414 horsepower and 478 lb-ft of torque. With this tune, the M240i comes rather close to the power and performance levels of the M2 – just what the owner wanted.
After these performance parts were installed, the vehicle also received a BMW M Performance carbon fiber rear spoiler that’s matched with a BMW M Performance stainless steel exhaust system. In turn, this allows the BMW M240i to achieve a better throttle response, more power and torque and a much more impressive sound note as well. Furthermore, the iND painted front reflectors add to the clean looks of the car as well. Naturally, a build wouldn’t be finished without a set of aftermarket wheels.
The wheels chosen are VMR V804 wheels. A lightweight, clean and good looking design allows them to accentuate the exterior appeal of the BMW 2 Series nicely. You can check out the complete build photoshoot right below.
