While not surprising at all, the sheer fact that the owner of this Mineral Gray BMW M3 took his vehicle to get modded straight from the dealer – is impressive. When the customer received his M3, the paperwork was done, car ready, the first trip they took was to European Auto Source. First, the owner decided to give his vehicle more power and a better sound.
The BMW F80 M3 is powered by a 3.0 liter BMW TwinPower Turbo engine delivering 425 horsepower and maximum of 550 Nm torque. When equipped with a 7-speed DCT (Dual Clutch Transmission), it will accelerate from 0-62mph (0-100km/h) in just 4.1 seconds and reach a top speed of 155mph (250km/h). In reality, that’s one hell of a start for a project like this one. However, there’s the teething issue with the M3’s sound – or the lack of it – as for many, the stock exhaust note of the current-generation M3 is simply tame & un-compelling.
This is where a full Dinan free flow stainless steel exhaust system comes into action. The system is made in a high quality stainless steel that weighs 3lbs less than the OEM system. It sounds meaner and offers an extra five horsepower as well. Dinan’s exhaust system also comes with a computer controlled valve that helps keep noise levels low during regular daily driving, but ramps it up when the throttle is wide open. A perfect choice for a daily-driven M3, that’s for sure.
After the exhaust was done, the owner decided to upgrade the car’s overall looks.
Namely, it all started with BMW M Performance gloss black kidney grilles. It’s followed by a set of Dinan high performance adjustable coilover system, that allows the owner to refine his ride height/quality on the fly.
The Coilover System is 100% compatible with EDC equipped BMW M3 models. Furthermore, it comes with threaded collars which allow easy and precise front/rear height adjustments. For those keen on performance oriented driving, the spring rates are 50% stiffer in the front and 10% in the rear, body roll is considerably reduced and the upper spring mounts aid in quiet operation.
Finally, the M3 received a set of aftermarket wheels from Vorsteiner. These Vorsteiner V-FF 102 Flow Forged wheels are a perfect match to the M3, specially with their low-weight and appealing design. The wheels come in sizes of 20×8.5 and 20×10.5 in the front and rear, respectively. The Carbon Graphite finish on the wheels, works well with the Mineral Gray exterior finish of the BMW M3 as well.
