The top model in the new BMW 5 Series Touring range is not missing from the 2017 Geneva Motor Show. The BMW 540i Touring renounces a particularly sporty configuration and instead carries the elegant dress of the Luxury Line, which makes the sports wagon look very classy and high-quality. The luxurious, discreet appearance is underlined by the paintwork in Sophisto Grey Brilliant Effect and it could surprise many customers when the 5.94 meter long laureate suddenly accelerates in 5.1 seconds to 100 km/h.
The luxury combination also owes its considerable sprinting to its all-wheel drive, since the BMW 540i Touring will initially be available exclusively in combination with the xDrive and the eight-speed automatic transmission.
Later, customers will be allowed to upgrade to a rear-mounted sDrive version. Thus, the BMW 5 Series Touring G31 with 340 hp strong six-cylinder B58 engine goes to 100 km/h in 5.1 seconds and has an electronically limited top speed of 250 km/h.
The BMW G31 5 Series Touring with Chrome Line Exterior and silver roof trim also features the 20-inch BMW Individual light-alloy wheels V-spoke Style 759. The optional M sport brake with blue-painted brake calipers can be seen along with the trapezoidal tailpipes of the 540i xDrive.
In the interior, the BMW 5 Series Touring G31 also exudes a refined elegance: exclusive Nappa ivory white trim with contrast-colored stitching, comfort seats equipped with a massage function and other goodies to make long journeys pleasant. Thanks to Bowers & Wilkins’ Diamond Surround Sound System with a total of 16 loudspeakers and a navigation system Professional with gesture control and ceramic applications on the controls, the best entertainment is ensured.
This also applies to the second row, because, in addition to the view into the sky through the large panoramic glass roof, the Entertainment Professional system also promises a lot of variety with its back-mounted displays.
