Buchloe-based automaker ALPINA has just revealed their facelifted B3 S and B4 S models. Due to be unveiled at the upcoming Geneva Motor Show, the two athletes will bring visual and powertrain changes.
The revised straight-six 3.0 litre engine now delivers even more power and ensures thrilling performance. If requested, impressive 324 kW (440 PS) and a maximum torque of 660 Nm at 3.000 U/min are available – In fact 600 Nm of torque is available across a wide range between 2000 rpm and 5000 rpm. Coupled to the excellent ZF 8-Speed Sport-Automatic Transmission it propels the BMW ALPINA B3 S Bi-Turbo in just 4.3 seconds from 0 to 100 km/h and on to a top speed of 306 km/h for the Saloon respectively 303 km/h for the Touring. BMW Efficient Dynamics technologies such as Auto Start Stop and Sailing contribute to an exemplary fuel consumption of only 7.9 – 8.1 l/100 km and 180 – 185 g/km CO2 combined measured to ECE norm.
The BMW ALPINA B3 S Bi-Turbo is characterized by a subtle yet powerful appearance. The front spoiler and chrome kidney grill underline the powerful presence of the BMW ALPINA B3 S Bi-Turbo on the road, hinting at its athletic pedigree and extraordinary performance. The standard LED headlights and LED fog lights are highly efficient, provide maximum road illumination and lend the BMW ALPINA B3 S Bi-Turbo its unmistakable appearance. A stainless steel exhaust system, developed in collaboration with Akrapovič, features two trademark elliptical twin tailpipes which are elegantly integrated into the rear valence. Above, the taillights shine in the iconic BMW LED design. Superior material quality and refined interior design elements go hand-in-hand with an extended standard equipment level which includes Leather Dakota, Sport Seats with electric seat adjustment and Park Distance Control.
With the exception of the B4 S Convertible, all body variants are also available with four-wheel drive on request. In the case of the BMW Alpina B4 S Coupé, its traction contributes to the fact that the 100 mark drops after 3.9 seconds and reaches 200 km/h after 13.4 seconds.
Small and stylish details round off the identity of every interior. This includes the door sills, metal emblems in the seat backrests and in the floor mats, and of course the exclusive production plaque with model-specific build number. In combination with a BMW upholstery there are a host of additional design possibilities and individualisation options, for example classic ALPINA diagonal rhomb applications in the seat backrests, embossings and other decorative elements.
The prices for the noble alternatives to M3 and M4 start at 7,.900 euros for the B3 S sedan, the identical motorized touring costs at least 74,700 euros. Even more expensive is the B4 S Coupé, which is equipped with a basic price of 75,300 euros. The all-wheel drive increases prices by 2,900 euros. The BMW Alpina B4 S Convertible is exclusively available with a rear-wheel drive, and at least 81,400 Euros must be invested for open-air pleasure.
