With just a few months before its world debut, the third generation BMW X3 was spotted near its birthplace, in South Carolina. Compared to previous spy photos, this test mule is a base model, lacking multi-piston front brake calipers and round exhaust pipes.
Additionally, the X3 prototype comes with a set of new wheels showing a multi-spoke design that gives the car a sportier look.
The third-generation BMW X3 is built on the new, rear-wheel drive flexible modular system offering more interior space and a redesigned seating system to ensure higher variability and greater comfort. Thanks to new lightweight construction processes and the use of the new platform, the G01 X3 is about 100 kg lighter than the current X3.

Along with a new exterior design and a more premium cabin, high-tech and safety features, and advanced telematics, are poised to make the G01 X3 another big seller for the Bavarians.
The G01 X3 will begin its production cycle in August 2017 and will arrive at dealers late that year and early 2018. ty features, and advanced telematics, are poised to make the G01 X3 another big seller for the Bavarians.
