The “BMW Individual 7 Series THE NEXT 100 YEARS” models will mark the company’s centenary and are being produced in a limited quantity with only 100 units available worldwide with three different engine variants. The US market will receive 5 units and it will be exclusively available as the “BMW Individual M760i xDrive Model V12 Excellence THE NEXT 100 YEARS” centennial model, featuring a 12-cylinder engine producing 610 hp (preliminary) and a unique combination of state-of-the-art comfort, luxury and dynamic agility.
To make things even more exciting for buyers, BMW has partnered up with Montblanc to create a limited edition fountain pen. Beginning in September, the Montblanc for BMW Centennial Fountain Pen will accompany each of the 100 new BMW 7 Series The Next 100 Years cars purchased at BMW dealerships.
For this new Montblanc for BMW Centennial Fountain Pen, collaborators Zaim Kamal, creative director at Montblanc International, and Karim Habib, head of BMW Design, reprised the recognizable pattern of the BMW’s Merino leather interior on the intricate grid design of the pen’s cap and barrel. The vibrant blue of the resin visible beneath the rhodium-plated skeletonized metal mirrors the shade of the car.
The piston-filled fountain pen’s 18-karat rhodium-plated gold nib repeats the BMW “7” pattern in its engraving, while the famous Montblanc snowcap emblem – this time in quartz set in black onyx – crowns the pen.
Each of the 100 writing instruments comes in a blue calfskin pouch.
