This year’s Goodwood Festival of Speed (FoS) will celebrate BMW’s centenary, with the German car maker being the 2016 Honored Marque. To do so properly, the peeps over at BMW will be bringing plenty of new cars to the show while Lord March himself will be opening the ceremony by driving a classic BMW 507 Roadster on the famous Goodwood hillclimb on June 23rd. That’s not all though, as the MINI Seven will be shown in front of a live audience for the first time.
Unveiled earlier this year, the MINI Seven is a throwback at the Austin Seven which was the car that eventually evolved into the classic Mini we all know from the 1960s. The new MINI Seven will be paying homage to the original, in the classic MINI way and while it was unveiled on the internet for the first time back in May, this will be the first occasion people get to see it in the metal.
The features that set the MINI Seven apart from the rest of the MINI cars out there include the Lapisluxury Blue paint finish, roof and exterior mirror caps in Melting Silver, 17-inch light alloy wheels in exclusive MINI Seven Spoke two-tone design, door sill finishers, side scuttles with MINI Seven logo and bonnet stripes in Melting Silver with surrounds in Malt Brown available as an exclusive option.
Inside the cabin you’ll find seats in fabric/leather finish Diamond Malt Brown, interior surfaces in Piano Black, optional Color Line Malt Brown and MINI Seven logo on the central instrument surround. The car is now available in both 2-door and 4-door hatch guises and can be had in Cooper or Cooper S versions if you prefer petrol or Cooper D or SD if you’re more into frugality.
Alongside the new MINI Seven, visitors of the Goodwood Festival of Speed will also witness some sort of debuts for some other 25 cars, including the McLaren 570S Sprint, Mazda MX-5 RF, Maserati Levante, Alfa Romeo Giulia and Porsche 911 R among others.
