With less than two years to go until the new BMW F90 M5 launches, new information come to surface. According to a trusted source, the new uber-sedan will get a plethora of optional features that will include things like the new Display Key and Gesture Control.
The M model will be borrowing tech from the G11/G12 7 Series and it will bring forward a new take on how the Motorsport division does business. CFRP panels and inserts will be used throughout the body, from the roof to the pillars, while aluminum will be making up for a lot of the chassis. Therefore, the weight is expected to be reduced by at least 100 kg (221 lbs) compared to the current model.
Under the hood, the F90 M5 will use the same 4.4-liter twin-turbo V8 layout, but with some important updates done to it. The power output is expected to go up to around 600 HP and 800 Nm (590 lb-ft) of torque. Sources say the new M5 will be offered with all-wheel drive. The question remains whether the car will have xDrive as standard or if it will be optional.
Another extremely interesting bit about the new M5 is the incredible list of optional features. Apart from the aforementioned Display Key and Gesture Control features you will also be able to get massaging and ventilated seats up front, the new Bowers & Wilkins sound system, automatic tailgate operation, Ambient Air package with a variety of scents, Parking Assistant Plus (the car will be parking itself), Driving Assistant Plus (the car will also be driving itself), Remote Control Parking, Night Vision, Wi-Fi Hotspot and many, many others.
