A new version of BMW’s massively successful R nineT has just been revealed. For those of us outside of the UK, however, the news is bittersweet, as the new motorcycle is only for the UK market.
The new R nine T Sport will be available starting February 6th and will carry a price of £12,990. What will buyers get for nearly thirteen thousand pounds? For one, a high performance Akrapovič exhaust. However, the variations to the the new Sport model go beyond a mere slip-on exhaust canister.
The unique brushed aluminum tank will be available in two different configurations. One of which will have visible welding seams, for a raw, performance oriented look. Absent from the bike are rear foot pegs, as well as a rear passenger seat.
Hopefully, if the Sport is commercially successful, BMW Motorrad will consider expanding the markets in which the bike will be available. I can only assume that many consumers in the States would be interested in purchasing, what is basically, an R nine T café racer. Speaking for myself, I know I’d be.
