John Nichol and Amy Lancaster from Bowker BMW will leave Preston at 12.30am on Monday November 30th before driving an all-electric BMW i3 to Munich in less than 20 hours.
In Munich, John and Amy will be guests of BMW Group at the Welt & Museum before stocking a hamper with produce from the Munich Christmas markets. The hamper will be brought back to Preston and donated to St Catherine’s Hospice.
BMW i brand manager John Nichol said: “It’s a fun challenge with a simple message. We wanted to show people just how straightforward electric motoring is – no matter how far you want to go. The technology and charging network has come on leaps and bounds. But, there’s one thing talking about it and another thing showing people.”
Bowker Motor Group marketing manager Amy Lancaster added: “We’ll be using a network of super fast charging points on our journey. It’s a long way but it will be fun and we’re confident we’ll make it. We hope our customers and motorists throughout the county will enjoy following our challenge on social media.”
John and Amy will be sharing updates, videos and pictures and answering questions throughout the challenge on the Bowker BMW social media channels including Facebook and Twitter. Follow the journey and ask questions using #Preston2Munich.
