The most powerful production MINI ever is just the beginning for AC Schnitzer. The tuning professionals from Aachen use the new MINI John Cooper Works F56 as a basis for their project which is scheduled to launch at the 2015 Essen Motor Show.
The stock 231 hp MINI John Cooper Works F56 – with the help of AC Schnitzer – now makes 265 hp. Just as important as the extra horsepower is the increase in torque output from 320 to 390 newton meters of torque.
To match the increased power, the AC Schnitzer program for the new MINI John Cooper Works also comes with design and aerodynamic changes. The front splitter and the 19-inch double-spoke wheels are specially developed for the F56. The ride height was lowered by up to 30 millimeters at the front and up to 35 millimeters in the rear, thanks to new suspension springs.
Next on the list was the sound department. The AC Schnitzer developed a custom exhaust system with a valve control. Here the driver can remotely affect the sound of the vehicle and at any time. The tailpipes – in Design Sport or Sport Black – provide a visual demarcation of the series car.
In addition to the tuning program for the flagship John Cooper Works, AC Schnitzer also offers a performance increase for another MINI F56 with the BMW B48 engine – the MINI Cooper S with the standard 192 hp now delivers 235 hp.
