German tuner, G-Power, works their magic, once again, on a BMW M car. This time, the tuning powerhouse got their hands on the M6 Convertible and decided to add some more ponies to it. In stock form, the M6 Convertible makes 552 horepower and 502 lb-ft (680 Nm) of torque, more than enough for most owners. Known for their extreme tuning options, G-Power created a custom remapping software – coupled with an aftermarket exhaust system – to give the M6 Cabrio 729 hp and 975 Nm (718 lb-ft) of torque output.
The custom exhaust system also features flow-optimized downpipes that can be offered without a catalytic converter, and some titanium link pipes with tailpipes and resonators.
The tuning shop offers the option to “lose” the custom exhaust system, but with the caveat that the power will drop to 689 hp.
G-Power says the M6 Cabrio will no sprint from 0 to 200 km/h (124 mph) in 10.7 seconds and reach a top speed of “more than 300km/h (186 mph)”.
Finally, a set of 21-inch HURRICANE RR forged alloy wheels made from ultra-light aircraft-grade aluminum were added to the car to to improve the handling (by reducing the unsprung weight).
