Here is the first video of the new BMW M4 GTS. The 500 horsepower race car was just unveiled by BMW and it already has the racing community raving about it.
BMW went through great lengths to make sure that the M4 GTS is faster and handles better than the standard car. Which is an incredible accomplishment, considering how good the standard M4 is. For GTS duty, BMW took the engine in the M4 and added water injection and some forged internals, like the crankshaft. While that doesn’t sound all that significant, it makes a world of a difference. Water Injection, a world first on the GTS, significantly lowers combustion chamber temperature by spraying an extremely fine mist into it during combustion. This decrease in temperature, by up to 80 degrees Fahrenheit, increases both power and efficiency while also reducing engine knock.
The engine now delivers 500 horsepower for the European model and 493 hp for the U.S. one. From 0 to 60 mph, the M4 GTS needs only 3.7 seconds.
BMW also brags about the Nurburgring time of 7:28 minutes which is faster than many supercars.
