The IAA Frankfurt 2015 will kick off in just a few days, spearheading the showcase of some interesting developments in the automotive industry. Among the numerous car manufacturers launching products next week, BMW will have its own impressive display of car. After all, it’s the Bavarians’ home turf.
While we already covered the extensive list of items that the Bavarian car maker will be showcasing at the show, there are certainly five things that any BMW fan should look forward to.
1. BMW 7 Series Remote Control Parking System
The various new features that are unprecedented in the luxury sedan segment include the extension of the iDrive system to include a touch display and BMW gesture control, Touch Command for controlling comfort and infotainment functions, as well as a Remote Control Parking system. The innovative self-parking system is an interesting one to see in action considering that other automakers have tried this and have not fully succeed.
2. BMW 330e Sedan
This plug-in hybrid marries BMW eDrive technology with a four-cylinder petrol unit from the BMW Group’s newest engine generation. While extracting a total system output of 185 kW/252 hp from its duo of power units, the BMW 330e returns an average fuel consumption (combined) of 2.1–1.9 liters/100 km (134.5–148.7 mpg imp) and CO2 emissions (combined) of 49–44 g/km (in the EU test cycle).
3. BMW M6 GT3 Styling
While the BMW M6 GT3 is all about performance, we are not going to get an opportunity to witness its acceleration, speed or cornering performance at the auto show. However, the design lines and every bit of racing oriented persona will be available to the public’s prying eyes, allowing us to further examine the M philosophy.
4. The New BMW 225xe
The BMW 225xe may bolster a quirky design, but I personally like it. The premium van is the perfect solution for families looking for the BMW driving dynamics, premium interiors and utility. BMW will certainly showcase the most “loaded” models, as every auto maker does at shows like, so we will see the van in all its glory.
5. BMW eDrive Technology
All the plug-in hybrid models being exhibited by BMW at the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show, employ the BMW eDrive technology initially developed for BMW i cars in the form of electric motors, high-voltage batteries and intelligent energy management. Hybrids seem to be in the future of many BMW models, so it’s interesting to see from up-close what BMW has been cooking for the last few years.
