Tuning shop OK-Chiptuning unveil their BMW 1M project with a significant power upgrade. The 3.0 liter six-cylinder N54 engine produces 340 horsepower and 500 Nm (369 lb-ft) of torque in stock form, but with a little work done under the hood, the iconic 1M now makes 45o hp and 714 Nm (527 lb-ft).
All that oomph has been achieved through a custom intercooler and downpipes from Wagner Tuning. To increase the stock sound, the standard exhaust system was swapped out for an Eisenmann race exhaust. A Sachs clutch was also added to provide better shifting capabilities.
The tuner has not yet released performance figures, but we expect faster times from the standard 4.5 seconds for the 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h).
The top speed limiter set initially at 155 mph (250 km/h) has been removed.
To cope with all that power increase, the 1M now sits on Schmidt CC-Line 20-inch wheels with 245/30 ZR20 front and 295/25 ZR20 rear tires. The ride was also lowered thanks to a H&R coilover set. Other visual upgrades include a carbon fiber trunk lip, carbon fiber side mirror caps and an M Performance Steering wheel.
