At the 2015 Frankfurt Auto Show, Mercedes-Benz C-Class Coupe will make its official debut. The competitor to the BMW 4 Series Coupe was crafted after the more luxurious S-Class Coupe featuring many of the same styling cues.
Up front, the new C-Class Coupe stands out with powerful-looking grille flanked by headlights also inspired by the S-Class Coupe and adorned with LED lights. From the side, the aggressive slope of the roof and the high beltline give the C-Class Coupe a sporty and elegant look.
A duck-bill spoiler integrated into the rear decklid and horizontal taillights complete the exterior design of the new compact premium coupe.
Inside the cabin Mercedes stays true to its style and high-quality materials. The sports seats have been designed specifically for the coupe offering sporty comfort. The interface is Mercedes’ COMAND system which includes a large display screen located on the dash.
Based on the new MRA modular platform for rear-wheel-drive autos, the new C-Class Coupe should be lighter than the outgoing model. The car is also bigger than its predecessor: length is up by 3.7 inches and the width is up by 1.6 inches.
The C300, the only version of the new two-door to be announced so far, will use the same 241-horsepower, 273-pound-foot, 2.0-liter, turbocharged four-cylinder as the C300 sedan.
The C-Class Coupe comes standard with LED headlights, Pre-Safe braking, keyless start, and a panoramic sunroof. There is also a long list of electronic safety features and driver aids. Other options include semi-automated parking assistant, 360-degree camera system, and the semi-autonomous Distronic Plus with Steering Assist adaptive cruise control system. Lots of fancy things for a compact premium car.
