Finnish tire maker, Nokian, is introducing the next generation of Premium All Season tires: the new Nokian eNTYRE 2.0.
The Nokian eNTYRE 2.0 was specifically designed for North America and uses an inside/outside tread pattern, new groove designs, a modern silica compound, and noise dampening technologies to greatly improve dry road handling, aquaplaning properties, and wet grip without compromising winter grip, all while decreasing noise levels and increasing tread life.
Nokian says the eNTYRE 2.0 offers impressive low rolling resistance to save fuel and reduce carbon emissions. This is also a environmental-friendly tire.
The new High Modulus Tread compound and Comfort Base compound work together to deliver a smooth and sporty ride. The new, modern silica compound included in the High Modulus Tread Compound uses the expanding molecular structure of the silica and rubber compound to strengthen the stiffness of the tread pattern and boost the tire’s handling properties, delivering confidence in cornering that feels similar to an ultra-high performance tire. The silica in the High Modulus Tread compound works ideally along a wide temperature range, improving wet grip from spring to autumn.
Underneath, the new Comfort Base compound provides unbeatable comfort on bumps and road cracks. This new base compound also reduces heat build-up which improves the wear characteristics of the eNTYRE 2.0 and reduces fuel consumption.
Although the new Nokian eNTYRE 2.0 contains 14% fewer sipes that its predecessor, giving it ultra-high performance-like handling on dry roads, new innovation have improved its aquaplaning and slushplaning properties. The design of the new Lateral Grooves allows them to store more water from between the tire and the road and accelerates its flow from the main grooves.
The flow of the water displaced by the surface tread is also accelerated by the polished main grooves. Polishing the grooves gives the Nokian eNTYRE 2.0 an even more appealing look and further improves its aquaplaning and slushplaning properties.

Nokian has included its Silent Sidewall Technology and Silent Groove Design in this Premium All Season tire. The Silent Sidewall Technology uses a unique rubber compound on the wing area of the tire to absorb noise and vibration waves before they reach the bead of the tire and travel through the rim and suspension to the inside of the car. This creates a reduced noise level for drivers and passengers.
The Silent Groove Design helps to reduce the annoying whistling noise that comes from the air rushing through the grooves of the tires at highway speeds. Small indentations in the walls of the longitudinal grooves control the air flow through the tire’s tread and prevent any unpleasant whistling sounds. The design reduces noise levels inside the vehicle. The Silent Groove Design also improves heat distribution which helps to cool the tire and improve wear resistance.
The tread surface is equipped with the Driving Safety Indicator (DSI). The numbers indicating the groove depth and the water drop symbol indicating the risk of aquaplaning are immediately visible to a driver inspecting the tires installed on a vehicle. The water drop symbol disappears at the point that less than four millimeters of tread are remaining, indicating an increased risk for aquaplaning.
The Nokian eNTYRE 2.0 comes in a comprehensive selection of 46 sizes, 11 completely new for 2015, from 15 inches to 19 inches and in speed ratings T (118-123 mph/190-199 kph), H (130-148 mph/210-239 kph), and V (149-167 mph/240-269 kph). The majority of sizes will be available for Spring 2015.
