California-based automaker of electric cars, Tesla, introduces a new entry-level car in their lineup. The new Tesla Model S 70D starts at $75,000 and qualifies for federal tax credit which lowers the price to $67,500. Just like the Model S P85D, the new S 70D features a dual electric motor to give the car an all-wheel drive system. The two electric motors produce 514 horsepower and has a 0-60 acceleration time of 5.2 seconds. It will also have a 70 kWh battery and a 240 mile driving range. Top speed is limited to 140 mph.
The previous entry-level Tesla, Model S, will be retired.
The new model comes standard with Supercharging DC fast-charging and the hardware for Autopilot functions which will be enabled in the future. The Trip Planner software, which keeps the driver within battery range of Superchargers or other charging stations, has also been updated. Automatic keyless entry and a GPS-enabled Homelink system are also standard.
Tesla also announced three new paint colors for the Model S range: Ocean Blue, Obsidian Black and Warm Silver.

Three of the current Tesla offerings have all-wheel drive, with the P85D sitting at the top.
The next EV from Tesla is expected to be Model X, scheduled for production by the end of this year.
