In less than a month, the new BMW X5 M and X6 M will make their world debut at the 2014 LA Auto Show.
Today, we have the first teaser video featuring the two M-brothers.
In the video “Paparazzi Challenge”, which was created apparently on the grounds of the BMW Driving Academy in Maisach, the two Ms are being chased by spy photographers, a plot that reflects pretty much the reality today when everyone with a camera or a phone turns into a car paparazzi.
Built atop the new F15 BMW X5 and F16 BMW X6, the all-wheel drive M SUVs gets the typical M treatment with a dynamic front-end, large air intakes and air breathers, along with a wider track and the M iconic quad tailpipes.
Under the hood, the 2015 BMW X6 M is powered by an updated version of the twin turbo V8 S63Tu engine from the new M5 and M6. Rumors around the interwebs say that the new powerplant will produce nearly 600 horsepower, a significant upgrade even over the Competition Package developed for the M5 and M6. The torque will also get a bump well above the 500 lb-ft limit. The new X6 M will also get a DCT box.
The top speed will likely be electronically limited to 174 mph (280 km/h).
Stay tuned on November 18th!
