German tuner TJ Fahrzeugdesign creates the ultimate automobile conversion. By using a base BMW 118d model, the tuning specialists create a BMW 1M replica with an impressive 555 horsepower. In comparison with the previous conversion introduced back in 2012, the vehicle gets new body upgrades which warrants the CSL suffix. The 1M CSL not only comes in the same gray as many BMW M3 CSL, but also with carbon fiber roof and some carbon covers on the front and rear.
Under the hood, the standard 1M inline six-cylinder with 340 hp is replaced with the legendary V10 engine S85 from the last generation BMW M5 and M6. Various measures raise the RPM to 8,800 and the engine power to around 555 hp.
As in the M5 and M6 V10, the BMW 1 Series M CSL sends the power to the rear wheels via a seven-speed SMG. The standard sprint from 0 to 100 km/h is completed in 3.9 to 4.0 seconds, and the 200 mark is achieved in less than 12 second. And even 300 km / h can be reached with the V10 1er after 36 seconds.
To improve the driving dynamics KW Clubsport coilover suspension Variant 3 are fitted to the 1M CSLs, and previously installed X6 M brakes are used as well. The remaining suspension technology comes mostly from the BMW M3 E92. The 19 inch rims are fitted to 285 millimeters wide sport tires. The impressive exhaust sound comes from a custom-made stainless steel exhaust system. Despite the large V10 engine, the BMW 1M CSL weighs 1575 kg with 52 percent weight resting on the front axle.
The cost of the tuning, including conversion to 1 Series M body style, V10 engine, SMG, CSL seats, changed axles, new suspension, more powerful brakes and carbon elements amount to a total of 85,000 euros.
