BMW 2 Series Active Tourer leaked images have just hit the web. BMW’s first front-wheel drive vehicle, aside from the MINI range, will come to market this year with a new generation of three and four cylinder engines.
At the low-end of the range BMW will offer a 216i Active Tourer that will produce around 135 horsepower. The 225i is the top model with 231 hp.
The 2 Series Active Tourer measure 4,342 millimeters long, 1,800 millimeters wide and 1,555 millimeters in height. The wheelbase is 2,670 millimeters long. By using the front-wheel drive architecture and transverse engines, the interior space is larger than in many current BMW models.
The F46 BMW Active Tourer will compete against the Mercedes-Benz B-Class which recently halted development of a long-wheelbase version of the second-generation B-class.
