Audi is celebrating the 30th anniversary of the Sport quattro by bringing a new concept at the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show. The Audi Sport Quattro Concept is a plug-in hybrid (a trend these days in the premium segment) outputting 560 horsepower from a conventional 4.0 liter V8 TwinTurbo engine. The gasoline powerplant is coupled with a disc-shaped electric motor location between the engine and the 8-Speed Tiptronic gearbox.

The hybrid setup delivers 700 horsepower and 800 Nm (590 lb-ft) of torque. The Audi Sport Quattro is a bit on the heavy side with 1,850 kg (4,078 lb) but the impressive power output takes the car from 0 to 62 mph in 3.7 seconds while reaching a top speed of 305 km/h (189 mph).

The fuel consumption is 2.5 liter per 100 km or 94.1 US MPG, similar to the BMW i8. CO2 emissions of 59 g/km is also impressive. The Sport Quattro can also travel up to 50 km (31.1 miles) on electricity alone thanks to a 14.1 kWh lithium-ion battery.

Design wise, the Audi Sport Quattro stands out with its classic and retro lines coupled with modern cues, like the Matrix LED headlights and carbon fiber parts. Inside the cockpit has a driver-focused orientation and the typical Audi design that is on the futuristic side.
