We bring you a photo gallery of the supercars that were showcased at the 24 Hours of Le Mans.
BMW was absent this year as well since their motorsport focuses is now on the popular DTM championship. BMW has had a strong showing at LeMans with multiple class wins and an outright win with the McLaren F1 GTR in 1995.
The 24 Hours of Le Mans is the world’s oldest active sports car race in endurance racing, held annually since 1923. The race is organized by the Automobile Club de l’Ouest (ACO) and runs on the Circuit de la Sarthe, a circuit containing a mix of closed public roads and motor racing circuit that are meant not only to test a car and driver’s ability to be quick, but also to last over a 24 hour period.
Before the race kicks off on Saturday, fans from all around the world gathered to see the supercars parade, an automobile heaven where some of the most expensive cars in the world are within reach. This year we saw the Renault Alpine A110-50 by Koenigsegg Agera, Ferrari F12, Alfa Romeo 8C Competizione and Porsche 918 Spyder, as well as the ultimate supercar, the Bugatti Veyron.
Among the drivers present at the parade we spotted Nick Heidfeld, ex-BMW F1 driver who runs in the LMP1 class this year.
