Cadillac unveiled their long overdue CTS redo. It’s aimed squarely as a BMW 5 Series fighter and has some pretty interesting lines, especially the lines that start out on the outside edges of the front bumper. These carry up over the lateral edges of the lights and then streak right down the side of the car to the trunk. Cadillac is taking direct aim at BMW even going so far as to mention the 528i in their press materials.
This new Caddy touts a 200 pound weight loss. The CTS is now 5 inches longer and 1 inch lower than the last gen CTS and has 50/50 weight distribution. The CTS will have three different motors available. A four-cylinder 2.0 liter with 272 hp, a 3.6 liter V6 making 321 hp and their new Twin-Turbo 3.6 liter V6 pumps out a whopping 420 hp and 430 ft-bs of torque out of a 60 degree DOHC.
Caddy touts that per liter this motor makes more horsepower than either the BMW 535i or 550i does per liter of displacement.
The 2014 Cadillac begins production this fall. Prices have not yet been announced.
