BMW Group Canada achieves record sales for first half of 2012. MINI sets second consecutive record for best-ever month.
Richmond Hill, ON. BMW Group Canada (BMW and MINI brands combined) reported a year-to-date increase of 9.2 per cent with its June, 2012 sales results. The Group has sold a total of 18,440 units this year, marking its best first half ever. Results for the month of June were 4,068 retails, which represents a decrease of 2.3 per cent compared to June, 2011.
BMW.
The BMW brand reported 15,339 units year-to-date, representing an increase of 6.1 per cent over last year. For the month of June, the BMW brand reported 3,288 units retailed, a decrease of 6.4 per cent compared to June, 2011. June saw strong sales of the 5 Series, X1 and X3 Sports Activity Vehicles.
MINI.
MINI set a new record for its best-ever month with 780 units retailed, a 19.6 per cent increase over June, 2011. June marks the second consecutive best-ever month for the MINI brand. On the year, MINI has retailed a total of 3,101 units, up 27.1 per cent over the same period last year. The first MINI model of the now six-member family, the MINI Hatch, continued its sales momentum in June.
Motorrad.
BMW Motorrad Canada reported 233 motorcycle retails in June, an increase of 2.2 per cent over June, 2011. On the year, 1,064 units have been retailed, marking an increase of 7.7 per cent over the same period last year. BMW Motorrad sales were highlighted by the K1600GTL and F650GS models anchoring either end of the model range, and the continued success of the S1000RR supersports bike and iconic R1200RT tourer.
