Once again the BMW Performance Driving school team will return to Daytona for the 24 hours race weekend. The team will provide hot laps for Grandam and Rolex VIP’s and exhibition laps for the fans at various points around the famed track.
The team will consist of Mike Renner, Matt Mullins, Tommy VanCleef and Johan Schwartz. They will be piloting stock M3’s that are sourced from the BMW Performance Driving school’s fleet in Spartanburg.2 M3 coupes and 2 sedans will be utilized with one of each model equipped with a BMW Peformance exhaust so that fans can compare the tone difference between the stock exhaust and that of the BMW Performance unit.
“The Daytona track offers a great opportunity to show case some of the high capabilities of the M3. In the horse shoe we’ll do a bit of drifting. A task made easy with the power and superb balance of the M3 and the faster sections will afford us the opportunity to demonstrate some of the high speed and stability of the car. Whether we’re roasting them in a drift or cornering near the limit of adhesion the Continental tires (Official tire of the school), provide an excellent combination of grip and durability.
Bring your camera and find your spot in the horse shoe or otherwise as the BMW Performance Driving School M3’s will circulate the track on Friday from 12:15-1:15, Saturday from 9:30-10:30 and again from 1:00-2:00. There will also be an opportunity to see the M3’s and talk to the drivers about the cars, driving and driving programs throughout the weekend in the Fan Zone.
