At the 2011 LA Auto Show, BMW unveiled an M5 in a beautiful Frozen Silver color. So far, BMW has only two matte colors, the Frozen Black and Frozen Gray. Based on the what we have seen in LA, the Frozen Silver paint seems to be a much lighter color than the Frozen Gray.
At launch time, the color palette for the new M5 includes a wide range of exterior colors and interior trims: Alpine White, Black Sapphire Metallic paint, Havana, Silverstone, Space Grey, Imperial Blue, Grey Singapore and Monte Carlo Blue.
BMW Individual will also offer their own exterior and interior colors for the M5.
The new F10 M5 goes on sale next year and will be available in the US with both a manual and 7-speed DCT transmission.
The F10 M5 uses a high-revving 4.4-liter (4395cc) turbocharged engine with the BMW M TwinPower Turbo technology, twin-scroll turbochargers, high-precision direct fuel injection, VALVETRONIC variable valve control and a cross-bank exhaust manifold that outputs 560 horsepower from 5,750-7,000 rpm and 680Nm (502 lb-ft) of torque from only 1500rpm. The V8 turbo takes the M5 to 62 mph in 4.4 seconds and under 4 seconds using BMW’s new Launch Control.
The M5 is limited to a top speed of 155 mph, or 190 mph with the M Driver’s Package.
No pricing has been announced for the US market.
