Another attractive vehicle at the ALPINA exhibit in Geneva was the facelifted version of the ALPINA B3 S Cabriolet. Based on the BMW 335i, the BMW ALPINA B3 S Bi-Turbo combines improved performance and torque with reduced fuel consumption and CO2 emissions.
B3 S Bi-Turbo uses a modified 3.0 liter twin-turbo straight six engine that delivers 400 horsepower at 6,000 rpm and 540Nm or 398.3 lb-ft of peak torque. The 0-62mph (100km/h) sprint takes 4.7 seconds for both the saloon and coupe models which are also capable of achieving a top speed of 186mph or 300km/.
The dynamic appearance of the B3 S Bi-Turbo is in part defined by the modern and functional front spoiler. Engineered using the newest developments in aerodynamic design, the spoiler reduces lift at the front and enables optimal air flow to the high performance cooling system. The B3 S carries a new rear valance which communicates a tasteful sporting charm through its integrated rear diffusor and two distinctive double-ended exhaust pipes.
Inside, the usual ALPINA design cues enhance the already elegant look of a 3 Series vehicle. Special leather and trim increase the level of luxury, while hand-stitched steering wheel is another ALPINA trademark.
The ALPINA B3 S BiTurbo is only available in Europe.
